Michael Lis


Founder / Director

As director at Goodweather, Michael’s work draws together the allied fields of architecture, design, and art. Active since 2008, Goodweather has operated both as a collective and as an independent consultancy, with projects appearing in major galleries and publications across Canada and the US.

Michael has led the design and production of a number of exhibitions and installations for some of Canada’s leading cultural institutions including the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Museum of Vancouver and the Charles H. Scott Gallery. Michael is a regular contributor to the design and implementation of exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Recent projects at the VAG include Mash Up (2016), VAG Offsite : Shigeru Ban (2018), and Cabin Fever (2018).

In addition to his work with cultural institutions, Michael has contributed to several projects with some of Vancouver’s leading contemporary architects including CMPLBA (Chad Manley Practice in Landscape and Building Arts), Campos Leckie Studio, D’Arcy Jones Architects, and Measured Architecture.
